Depression Support Groups

There are many support groups out there that can help you by answering questions, or putting you in touch with other people that are going through the same process you are. Some offer personal stories and solutions, others offer listings of drugs or treatments and the latest news in depression research.

I personally have never joined one, but here are some that seem to offer valuable resources or advice:

Thoughts about death or suicide are common when you are depressed, especially if you have been suffering depression for a while. It’s very important to take this seriously and reach out for professional help. If you feel like you want to give up or hurt yourself, get help immediately by calling your doctor, or call the National Suicide Prevention Helpline: 1-800-SUICIDE (1-800-784-2433).
